Analyzing second language acquisition by Nunan and English for specific purpose by Tony Evans

What is second language acquisition?
Nunan wrote the essay called ‘second language acquisition’ means to acquire the second or foreign language.
Second language acquisition is very faithful to English language learning, I would like to say not learning but acquiring. Acquiring   means getting in the language.
This concept of acquiring the second language emerged as finding the similarities and differences in the grammar structure of two different languages.
E.g. As we look upon English here first comes object then verb and then noun. But in our language, Guajarati, first is object then noun and verb. So it is difficult when we learn translation method.
After this idea, it is problematic then the idea comes of comprehensive means to understand what is said in second language in comprehensive manner. Where we understand the message of what is said in second language.
Nunan focuses upon the Second Language Acquisition.

In this essay, he is convinced with this idea. that if we acquire the second language so it is easy to learn it or rather we say to acquire.
Acquiring the second language means we get it naturally within us. And it would not be vanished if we do not practice or not focusing.
Gujarati language or mother tongue is not taught to us but it is acquired by us. So we know It very well. So  this sequence acquiring must be applied or while it is the matter of second language acquisition.

L1 – first language- mother tongue
L2- Second language-English

Nunan is in the favor of that matter if the L1 of learner is very good, he cannot acquire L2. As the L1 is mainly functioned in the mind of learner, then how he naturally acquires L2.he can only learn. It is difficult to acquire L2 but it is not impossible.
Acquisition is the natural process that goes naturally. There are no predefined courses or tasks. But it comes from the environment of second language. If we are surrounded by the second language speakers and its environment then it comes naturally within us.
In India, it is difficult to acquire the second language. If the English is our first language we could acquire it.
Second language acquisition has an unique concept ,one must get in.

ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSE

Introduction

English for specific purpose (ESP) has always seen itself as material-driven and as a classroom based activity concerned with practical outcomes. Most writing about ESP concerned with aspects of teaching, materials,, production and text analysis rather than with the development of a theory of ESP.

English for specific purpose means English is to be designed as per the specific purpose. If  the learner does not need to learn English in general. They are to be taught English, which he wants to learn related to the specific field or need.

English for specific purpose only focuses on the group of particular who going to learn for the particular need. It does not content vast area. The vocabulary, contexts ,grammar, materials are finalized as per the field of specific purpose.

NEEDS ANALYSIS

In ESP, need analysis is there. It means what the demand of learners. It should be taken in to consideration. There is not other context which is not related to the specific purpose of learning.
Needs analysis is there in ESP which is important.

Atheism and Morality

Atheism and Morality   Atheism means not to believe in God, we can not say it is dishonesty. we can not find connection between honesty and religion. religious people have negative view towards atheist.  Good Thoughts are not bound to be with only religion. But we are sometimes applying false thoughts in the name of religion.values are more important than religion.
